Nature in Japan

When thinking of Japan, it is easy to fall into the rut of thinking about the urban side of it. For example, both Tokyo and Osaka are huge cities. They contain a large amount of Japan’s population. As a result, many people’s minds go straight to a place like Tokyo when Japan becomes the topic of conversation.

While the urban parts of Japan are surely marvelous, there are also other great things to explore in Japan. One of those great things is the nature. There are plenty of natural wonders to see in Japan. In this post, we will delve into some of the great sites in nature that are in Japan. Keep reading down below to learn all about it!

Things to visit

Mt. Fuji

This mountain is the tallest mountain in the country. It is a feat to climb and an attraction for many alpinists.  Here, you can enjoy all of the things that are related to the outdoors, such as camping, hiking, and sightseeing. Some people have even tried geocaching in this area!

Suicide Forest

This natural venture might be a little bit spookier than the last. The Suicide Forest is a very creepy forest that exists in Japan. It has earned its name because many people have gone off into the forest to commit suicide. As a result, there is a figurative dark shadow that is cast over the notion of the forest. Many people claim that it might be haunted with the tormented souls that belonged to these unhappy earthly bodies. It may be scary, but it is worth the trip if you are brave! Venture there if you dare!

Of course, legend aside, the forest is incredibly beautiful and deserves a proper visit if you are feeling up to it. There has been a lot done to preserve the forest and make sure that it is in a healthy condition. For example, there have been some dead tree removals and such done by American tree companies such as tree service West Bloomfield. As a result, the forest has received much praise after some small beautification project.

The beach

Of course, Japan is an island country, so it has plenty of beaches. There are some great places to get amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. While all of the coast is not necessarily swimmable, there definitely places that exist that have public swimming access. Try visiting the southern part of the country for better luck on this.

A Most Lovely Beverage

if you’re craving something to drink but don’t know exactly what to get, then we have a solution for your dilemma. Think of something that is warm and robust. Its flavor is both stimulating and quenching. It is refreshing, but relaxing. Is it coffee? Nice try, but no. It’s tea!

Tea is an incredible hot beverage that you can drink abroad because it exists in so many cultures. Oftentimes, tea can be tied to cultural rituals and the like.  You can actually learn about some of these rituals if you ask locals over some tea! In Japan, they have special kinds of tea that they use. We’ve included some great teas to check out in Japan while you are over there. Read on down to check it out!

This tea is very popular in Japan and also Asia as a whole. The leaves from this tea are dried and provide much flavor when steeped in hot water. What is great about green tea is that it is so ubiquitous. It is one of the most commonly drunk beverages in Japan. Additionally, it has several health benefits. It contains caffeine, which can help you feel like you have more energy (some research studies show that small amounts of caffeine are actually good for you). Some other nutritional benefits include antioxidants, which help eliminate free radical nitrogen in your body. This helps strengthen your immune system. Just like when mine was super strong when I was working out door everyday doing tree service Southfield.

In addition to finding great teas in Japan, you can also locate and taste wonderful teas in other parts of Asia. You will find that tea can also be an essential part of many other Asian cultures. For example, in Vietnam, it is customary to offer your guests jasmine tea when they come into your house. This tea comes from jasmine leaves and is very strong and bitter. However, it has a very refreshing and awakening effect that is almost unparalleled. Make sure that if you travel to an Asian country outside of Japan that you do not miss an opportunity to try some great tea. You will definitely not regret it. Just make sure to not burn your tongue with hot tea!

There are plenty of other teas to try in Japan. You’ll run into it all over the place. Keep your eyes peeled for it!

One essential part of a culture is the music. In some ways, one can see music as the heart and soul of a culture. It is something that unifies and represents what a culture stands for and values. Because of this, music that belongs to each culture should hold great value. You should listen to it with big ears and not take it for granted.

Although it might not be as culturally interesting, it is very eye opening to see one culture take on the music of another culture. This can result in a new spin on an old sound. This is definitely the case with some of the music in Japan. While a certain style of music may have come from elsewhere, that music becomes transformed when it enters Japan. Here, you’ll find beautiful, cool, and some downright strange music. Keep on reading in the post to learn all about it!

Hearing it in Japan

What to check out

Like we said before, there is plenty of great music to check out in Japan. There are several genres that are very popular in this country. For example, jazz is huge over in Japan. There are pressings of certain famous jazz records that are only available in Japan. Hip hop is also huge there. A lot of rappers will actually do more tours in Japan than in the United States because there is such a demand for it over there. Make sure you hit up a jazz club or see a hip hop show if you’re there!

If you are someone who has allergies, then you know one of the struggles that occurs while traveling. Oftentimes, when we are outside of our daily environment, it is easy to get exposed to a number of new things. This results in your body potentially reacting to these unknowns in a negative way. This can make your vacationing unpleasant and have a dampening effect on your good time. While this can definitely be a bummer, there are ways to fight allergies and be aware of them occurring while on your trip. This post will help you identify some of the situations in which you might encounter getting allergies. When you know these things, then you’ll be able to fight them and have a good time abroad.

Identifying allergies

Knowing when you might have allergies largely depends on knowing your environment. If you know your environment well, then you’ll be able to think about the things that exist in that environment that might make you susceptible to allergies. For example, if you are allergic to lots of dust, then being in a big city like Tokyo or Osaka might make you feel like you are allergic to something. In the same manner, if you are allergic to pollen, then being out in nature might cause you to have allergies.

Another big thing with allergies is knowing what actually makes you allergic. This can be extremely important when it comes to food. Food allergies are common and can plague anyone. You just need to be aware of what your food allergies might be. For example, some people have a shellfish allergy. This will mean that they will probably want to stay away from sushi or places that serve a lot of seafood.

Fighting back

If you have an extended stay in Japan and are worried about allergies, do not fret! There are ways that you can be proactive about your allergies. For example, if you are allergic to some kinds of plants that are around the place where you are staying, you can pay to have them removed. Even if it is a tree, you can call a company that was originally a tree service Sterling Heights that has relocated to Japan. In this way, you’ll be able to eliminate some of the sources of substances that might be causing you allergies. As a result, you’ll be able to enjoy your trip allergy-free!

One of the great ways to learn about a culture that isn’t yours is to study its history. There, you can learn about how certain customs came to be. You can also learn about important figures in the history of that culture and how those people and certain events shaped that culture to be the way it is today.

Of course, you can find a lot of this information on the internet. But that’s not very fun, is it? A great hands on way to get involved with learning about a certain culture is to go to a museum that will have exhibits on that culture. You may even find a museum that deals with that culture exclusively. Whatever it is, it is definitely a fun and informative experience to go to a museum. In Japan, there are plenty of museums that cover a wide range of topics. This post contains some suggestions of types of museums that you can go visit while you are in Japan. Keep reading on down below for all of the information!

Museums in Japan

Japan is a most interesting country because their culture and customs are so different from ours back home. It is exciting and informative to learn both about and from the way people do things in Japan. One of the things that is much different about Japan is the notion of relationships. The way that people  interact and treat each other is very different from the way that we interact with one another here. This pervades all kinds of relationships. The notion of relationships over there also makes its way into how people see romance and pleasure. This gives rise to a number of services offered in Japan that you may not be able to find in the United States. Before you read them, try to keep an open mind before you reject any of them. We might be able to learn something! Keep reading below for all of the details.

Significant other

Did you  know that in Japan, you can pay somebody to act as your significant other? This can be handy if you are looking to have status at a certain event or family gathering. The person that you hire will send you texts and also show up to the occasional family dinner in order to keep up appearances.

You can also pay somebody to cuddle with you! There are places where you can go and spend money to have someone spend time with you in an intimate space like a bedroom. There, you can discuss your deepest and darkest secrets or just cuddle up with another human being.

Renting a Living Space in Japan

Living in Japan can be one of the most exhilarating and fulfilling experiences that one can have in life. There are so many intricacies of Japanese culture that one cannot glean from just visiting or watching TV. If you are ready to make the jump, then congrats! You’re in for an incredible experience. However, there are a lot of things that go into getting a temporary or permanent spot in Japan. We wrote this post to give you some information on living in Japan and some things that you might want to know.

Living in Japan

One of the things that you should know is that Japan has a highly organized society. This also results in housing being very organized. There is also a high population density in urban areas such as Tokyo. Consequently, a lot of the places that you will see there will be small and very efficient with space. You will be hard pressed to find a place like a huge abandoned loft.

There are things that you should keep in mind if you are going to get a small place. For one, it might be difficult to find a place that would be accommodating if you have a lot of pets. Also, if you are a pack rat or have a lot of things, it will be very expensive to find a place that has a lot of space.

Another thing that you should keep in mind is that Japan has a variety of climates. For example, in the North, it can get quite cold. As a result, you will need to make sure that you find a place with good insulation and heating. If you don’t have heating, you might want to contact some kind of heating and ventilation company in order to get one installed. In the same manner, the South can get pretty hot. When the summer months roll around, being in a tight space with not a lot of cooling could provide for a very uncomfortable situation. So, you might want to make sure that you have air conditioning in the place where you are living. You can contact a local company if you want to get some quotes on an air conditioner unit and the installation. In the same manner, if your air conditioner unit is broken, then you’ll want be sure to call an air conditioner repair service to stay cool.

Taste of Home

When you are traveling abroad, it can be easy to get homesick, even for a little bit. In those moments, it is good to find something in that country that reminds you of home. This can encourage you and keep you fueled for exploring new things. Finding something that reminds you of home can be difficult to do, especially in a culture where everything seems completely different from back home. However, there are a few overarching things that you can find in most societies, especially in Japan. One of those things is something that you can find all over the world. That thing is McDonald’s.

A world brand

Ever since its inception, McDonald’s has had the intention of carrying the idea of American fast food and service around the globe. The company that bears the golden arches has successfully put thousands of restaurants outside of the borders in the United States and has made the notion of the American hamburger a worldwide icon. Pair that hamburger with some crispy french fries and an ice cold Coca Cola and you’ve got the American Dream right there.

Finding one near you

It might take a little bit of research, but you will most likely be able to find a McDonald’s near you. The best bet is to look in major cities or urban areas. These places are the most likely to have Western influence and sort some of America’s top franchises. You’ll be able to satisfy that craving of American food in no time!

Japanese Entertainment

Sometimes, it is simply not enough to just see the sights in a place that you are visiting. If you are looking to broaden your perspective on the world, then you will want to see things from someone else’s point of view. Going on a vacation or traveling to another country is a great opportunity to do that.

When traveling in Japan, one of the ways that you can see things from their perspective is to look at their entertainment. Japanese entertainment differs greatly from what most people are used to in the United States. The television, music, and commercials all take the same general form. However, the contents can be totally different. This post aims to unpack some of these differences to clue you in on what is going on in the world of Japanese entertainment. We’ll go through some of the larger mediums of entertainment.

Just like us Americans, the Japanese have a strong hold on television as a form of entertainment. They have television shows, broadcasted sporting events, and commercials. However, the methods by which they produce these things are a little bit different. Sometimes, these commercials or shows will mimic some Western culture. In other circumstances, the entertainment will nod to only Japanese cultures and customs. As a result, some American or Western audiences might feel a little bit isolate from watching Japanese television. However, a useful approach is to see what can be gleaned about Japanese culture from watching the television. In this way, cultural learning and appreciation takes place.

Shopping for Local Styles

One of the most fun things to do when you are traveling to a different country is to see how people dress. It can broaden your perspective in a number of ways. One way that it can broaden your perspective is to see how people view clothing as an expression or how it is tied into the culture. This has several deeper implications. For example, looking at the clothing of other cultures can show how people of different socioeconomic statuses dress. You can also see how these ways of dressing from different classes dictates every day social interactions. In a completely different way, looking at how others dress in another country can help you see how clothes are an expression of art in that country (if they are at all). Finally, you can see how clothing is tied to the beauty standards of that culture.

Seeing something you like

Getting it

If you look at the clothing of another country and are interested in purchasing it, there are several things that you should keep in mind. For example, if it belongs to a culture that is much different than your own, you should look into whether it is something that is traditional or has strong ties to that culture (i.e. a kimono). This is important because acquiring these things can become more difficult. Oftentimes, things that are traditional can be handmade and expensive. The other thing that you have to keep in mind is that wearing something traditional outside of context can be cultural appropriation. This is a serious issue and should not be taken lightly. More on this in another post.
